Seoul: North Korea has again opened the country's doors to tourists from abroad. North Korea is opening its borders to tourists for the first time in five years since the Covid-19 pandemic, and the BBC reports that tourists will be allowed to visit North Korea from December. The BBC report quoted various tour operators.

Two China-based tour operators have already released plans for North Korean tours. Plans to visit Sangjeon, a mountain city in the northern region of North Korea, have also been announced. North Korea closed its borders to foreign tourists in early 2020.

North Korea announced the ban on essential goods from outside. Following this, the international sanctions on the country's nuclear projects had severely affected the food supply in the country. Tourists are currently allowed to go to Samgeon city. Experts estimate that access to other areas including Pyongyang may be granted later.

KTG Tours, which is very famous in China, has detailed North Korean tourism on social media. KTG Tours explains on social media that the four-year wait is over and they are looking forward to the North Korean tour. The BBC reports that North Korea is allowing entry to travelers from all countries except South Korea. Meanwhile, the United States has banned its citizens from visiting North Korea.
